The Arktikum in Rovaniemi provides a unique insight into the way of life, culture and history of the North. It is a museum, science centre, conference house as well as an architectural sight in its own right.
The Pilke Science Centre is a memorable and interactive place to visit for people of all ages whether the reason for your visit is work, study or vacation. The exhibition at the Science Centre tells about sustainable use of northern forests and about the forests' diverse yields, products and commodities. Pilke's life is rooted in the present moment and in the bright future of forest multiuse.
The Rovaniemi Art Museum is situated in the former post office vehicle depot, which was restored by architect Juhani Pallasmaa. The museum features the Finnish modern art collection of the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation. The special exhibitions present different art trends with North being the central theme.
